Maharaj who was Sushil Kumar Ji’s Guru also was very happy to see him and showered him with blessings. He said: Amrender Muni, my blessings are with you. Study hard. May you live long and prosper and achieve success in your endeavours.
Study and Service
In Delhi, under the guidance of Shri Sushil Kumar Ji Maharaj, Amrender Muni Ji pursued his studies diligently. He passed with a First Division in the Shastri Degree in Sanskrit from the Delhi Board. Then he did his M.A. in Philosophy from the Delhi University. He also presented a paper in Hindi entitled: Jain Muni Achaar aur Baudh Bhikshu Vinay (A Comparison between the disciplines of Jain Munis and Buddhist Monks) for his M. Phil degree . Along with his studies he also busied himself in service to the Guru of Shri Sushil Kumar Ji. The elderly saint was very happy with the way Amrender Muni looked after him and blessed him wholeheartedly. Only a fortunate few are able to receive blessings from such a saint.
Acharya Shri Sushil kumar Ji Maharaj travels abroad
In 1975 Shri Sushil Kumar Ji Maharaj started making preparations to travel abroad. On hearing of his plans there was an outcry from some of the old Jain monks, as traditionally Jain monks are not supposed to use any mechanical forms of transportation.
However Rev Shri Sushil Kumar Ji Maharaj was not to be deterred by these superstitions. He was determined to spread the light of Bhagwan Mahavir to countries far and wide.
Rev Shri Sushil Kumar Ji Maharaj was successful in his endeavours. He traveled to many countries and was able to meet several thousand people and convey the Jain philosophy.
In fact he was successful in getting the United Nations to award “World Religion” status to Jainism.
