________________ group generates pure vibrations in the environment. Guruji, what is the difference between the path of meditation and the path of mantra jap? Meditation (dhyana yoga), and mantra chanting, though different, are complementary to each other. Without concentration (dhyana), mantra jap will not be effective. 13. How do we know that we have found our one true Guru? Is it possible to have more than one Guru at the same time? If the disciple has true devotion, he will intuitively know that he has found his true and designated Guru. However, any teacher is also a Guru and is worthy of respect. One should be respectful to anyone who imparts important knowledge to us. The divine force that guides the disciple is one, it can reach the disciple through their designated Guru as well as other saints. They all are worthy of loving service. "Guru ek, seva anek" 14. If a seeker is strongly drawn to a saint or Guru who has already taken samadhi (ie. left his body), can a sadhak (seeker) take him as his Guru and proceed with sadhana? Will he receive guidance? A Guru remains a Guru even after leaving his mortal body. The Guru always shows the path and gives encouragement. Such Gurus guide us indirectly at the intuition and experience level. 15. Should meditation be practiced strictly under the guidance of a Guru (living master) or can we do it on our own? Whether it is the path of meditation or the path of yoga, it should be started only under the guidance of the Guru. When this is done the seeker does not face any difficulties. shantidoot | messenger of peace 216 Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only www.jainelibrary.org
