might have received less significance. It gives a short presentation of the Jaina-tenets, in the form of a Prasasti to Jina, The text of the Yogadastra, as also the Vitaragastotra, was probably written shortly after V. S. 1216. The commentary, on the other hand, was probably completed a few years later. The very significant extent of the latter leads us to suppose that Hemacandra worked on it for a considerable time even if he were ever so diligent and even if he had taken the help of his pupils.
