सवेन तस्य परसातस्य पृथिवीपतेः ।
करिष्यति [तु] सांनिध्यं तदा शासनदेवता ॥ ८२ ॥ राशः कुमारपालख तख पुण्येन भूयसा । सम्यमाने स्थले [म] प्रतिमाविर्भविष्यति ॥ ८३ ॥ सदा तस्यै प्रतिमाये यदुदावनभूभुजा । प्रामाणां शासनं दतं तदयाविर्भविष्यति ॥ ८४ ॥ नृपायुक्तास्तां प्रतिमां प्रना [वा]मपि नवामिव । रथमारोपविष्यन्ति पूजयित्वा यथाविधि ॥ ८५ ॥ पूजाप्रकारेषु पथि जायमानेषु अनेकशः । क्रियमाणेष्वहोरात्रं संगीतेषु निरन्तरम् ॥ ८५॥ तालिकारासिकेचैर्भवति [भवत्सु ] ग्रामयोषिताम् । पचशब्देवातोद्येषु वाद्यमानेषु संमदात् ॥ ८० ॥ पक्षद्वये चामरेत्पत्सु च पतत्सु च ।
नेष्यन्ति सम [म] तिमां वां युक्ताः पत्तनसीमनि ॥ ८८ ॥
त्रिभिर्विशेषकम् ॥
सान्तःपुरपरीवार अतुरखचवृतः ।
सक संघमादाय राजा तामभियाखति ॥ ८९ ॥ स्वयं रथारसमुत्तीर्य गजेन्द्रमसि च । प्रवेशयिष्यति पुरे प्रतिमां तां स भूपतिः ॥ ९० ॥ उपस्वभु[भ] वनं क्रीडाभवने संनिवेश्य ताम् । कुमारपालो विधिवत् त्रिसंध्यं पूजयिष्यति ॥ ९१ ॥ प्रतिमायास्तथा तथा वाचवित्वा स शासनम् । उहा [दा]पनेन बद तत् प्रमाणीकरिष्यति ॥ ९२ ॥ प्रासादष्टापदस्येव युवराज [ज] स कारितः । जनविण्यसंभाव्य विस्मयं जगतोपि हि ॥ ९३ ॥ स भूपतिः प्रतिमया तत्र स्थापितया तया । एधिष्यते प्रतापेन ऋया निःश्रेयसेन च ॥ ९४ ॥ देवभक्त्या गुरुमच्या त्वत्पितुः सदशोभय । कुमारपालो भूपालः स भविष्यति भारते ॥ ९५ ॥ इति श्रुत्वा नमस्कृत्य भगवन्तमथाभयः ।

The date in the first verse is of extraordinary interest. It shows distinctly that Hemacandra, like the other S'vetambaras, put the Nirvana of Mahavira 470 years before the beginning of the Vikrama For only 1660-470 gives the right date V. S. 1199 for the beginning of Kumarapala's reign. Jacobi, Kalpasutra, p. 8, has called attention to the fact that Hemacandra's statements in the Parisislaparvan do not coincide with the usual calculation. The coronation of Candragupta is there, VIII 388, placed 155 years after the Nirvága, wherons the old Gäthis add another sixty yours. The latter say that Mahavira died in the night when Palaka was crowned. According to them, Pälaka reigned 60 years, the Nandss 165, and betwoon Candragupta's coronation and the beginning of the Vikrama-ora, 255 years passed.
