Among the Bhavanapatis, there are twenty Indras; among the Vyantaras, there are thirty-two; among the Jyotishkas, there are two, the sun and the moon; and among the Vaimanikas, there are ten. Thus, there are sixty-four Indras according to the S'vetambaras. According to the Digambaras, there are forty Indras among the Bhavanapatis, thirty-two among the Vyantaras,twentyfour among the Kalpavasins, two among the Jyotishka, viz., the sun and the moon, one among the human beings and one among the Tiryachs.
ભવનપતિ, વ્યન્તર, તિષ્ક અને વૈમાનિક એમ ચાર પ્રકારના દેવ છે; અને ચોસઠ ઇન્દ્રો છે. જ્યોતિષ્ક અને વિમાનિક દેવો ઉપર વસે છે અને બાકીના નીચે રહે છે. કિલષ્ટ નારકી જે નીચે નીચે જાડી સાત પૃથ્વીઓમાં રહે છે.”—૯
સ્પષ્ટીક ભવનપતિના વીસ ઈન્દ્રો, વ્યંતરના બત્રીસ ઈન્ફો. - તિષ્કના બે ઈન્દ્ર-સૂર્ય અને ચંદ્રમા અને વૈમાનિકના દશ ઇન્દ્રો એમ સવે મળીને ચેસઠ ઇન્દ્રો છે. તિષ્ક અને વૈમાનિક આપણી ઉપર વસે છે અને ભવનપતિ અને વ્યન્તર આપણ નીચે રહે છે. નરક સાત છે-ઘમા, વંશ, સેલા, અંજણ, &િા, મઘા તથા માઘવતી. એ સાત સ્થળે, પૂર્વજન્મોપાર્જિત અતિકિલષ્ટ પાપ ભોગવવાને જન્મેલા પંચેન્દ્રિય જીવોને નારકી કહેવામાં આવે છે. जम्बू-धातकि-पुष्करार्धधरणीमध्यूषिवांसो जना
