very long period, he is eminently endowed with the power to penetrate into the deeper mysteries of the canonical texts. Modesty, perseverance and complete dedication to the guru have contributed to the development of these merits in him. Such merits were inherent in him since childhood. Since the time he came to me, I have found gradual intensification of these merits. I have derived utmost satisfaction from his capability and wholehearted devotion to duty.
Many other mo: ks also contributed towards the editing of the text of these canons 1 bless them all with the wish that their working capacity may be all the more developed.
I had embarked upon this Herculean work of agamas, having complete faith in my disciples--the monks and nuts of the Order.
