[Surya Prajnapti Sutra
Muhurta]
This section explains how many Muhurtas a particular Nakshatra (constellation) forms with the Moon.
**To determine the Muhurta formed by a Nakshatra with the Sun:**
* **Nakshatra Name:** Abhijit, Shatabhisha, Bharani, Aardra, Ashlesha, Swati, Jyeshta, Shravana, Dhanishta, Purva Bhadrapada, Revati, Ashwini, Krittika, Mrigashira, Pushya, Magha, Purva Phalguni, Hasta, Chitra, Anuradha, Moola, Purva Ashadha, Uttara Bhadrapada, Rohini, Punarvasu, Uttara Phalguni, Visakha, Uttara Ashadha.
* **Days:** 203
**Calculation:**
* A Nakshatra travels a certain number of parts out of 67 parts of a day with the Moon.
* To find the Muhurta formed with the Sun, divide the number of parts traveled with the Moon by 5.
* The result will be in days and parts of a Muhurta.
* To convert parts of a Muhurta to full Muhurtas, multiply by 30.
**Example:**
* Abhijit Nakshatra travels 21/67 parts of a day with the Moon.
* Dividing 21 by 5 gives 4 days and 1.5 parts of a Muhurta.
* Multiplying 1.5 by 30 gives 6 Muhurtas.
* Therefore, Abhijit Nakshatra forms a conjunction with the Sun for 4 days and 6 Muhurtas.
**Another Example:**
* Shatabhisha Nakshatra travels 33/67 parts of a day with the Moon.
* Dividing 33 by 5 gives 6 days and 3/5 parts of a Muhurta.
* Multiplying 3/5 by 30 gives 18 Muhurtas.
* Therefore, Shatabhisha Nakshatra forms a conjunction with the Sun for 6 days and 18 Muhurtas.
**Note:** This calculation applies to all the Nakshatras listed above.
