प्राकृत - सुकरत्नमाला ।
उदओ भुवणक्कमणं अत्थमणं चेय एग दिवसम्मि । सूरस्सवि तिन्नि दसा का गणणा इयर-लोगस्स १ ॥ १०० ॥ उदयो भुवनाक्रमणमस्तमनं चेत्येकदिवसे । सूरस्यापि तिस्रो दशाः का गणनेतरलोकस्य ? ॥ १०० ॥
Where even the sun passes through the three stages in one day viz: rise, progress and setting, the common run of men must be left out of reckoning (i. e. the common people must inevitably undergo these stages)
चंदस्स खओ न हु तारयाण रिद्धीवि तस्स न हु ताण । गुरुआ चडण पडणं का कहा निच्च-पडियाणं ? ॥ १०१ ॥ चन्द्रस्य क्षयो न तु तारकाणामृद्धिरपि तस्य न तु तासाम् । गुरूणां चटनपतनं का कथा नित्यपतितानाम् ? ॥ १०१ ॥
It is the moon who wanes and wanes and not the stars, it is the great only who rise up and fall down; of what consequence are the ever-fallen ? ) ( lit : what reckoning can be made of the ever-fallen ? )
अंबय-फलं सुपक्कं सिढिलं विंटं समुब्भडो पवणो । साहा मेलण-सीला न याणिमो कज-परिणामो ॥ १०२ ॥
आम्रफलं सुपक्वं शिथिलं वृन्तं समुद्भटः पवनः । शाखा मोचनशीला न जानीमः कार्यपरिणामम् ॥ १०२ ॥
