मन्द बुद्धि होता है, किन्तु बुद्धिमानों के समान व्यवहार करता है। (४) कोई मूर्ख होता है और मूखों के समान ही व्यवहार करता है।
(यहाँ पहला पद स्वभाव व प्रकृति की अपेक्षा से तथा दूसरा पद व्यवहार व आदत की अपेक्षा से समझना चाहिए।)
469. Prakanthak (horses) are of four kinds-(1) some horse is aakirna (tame and fast) and also aakirna-vihari (carries the rider smoothly), (2) some horse is tame and fast but still khalunk-vihari (torments the rider by balking), (3) some horse is khalunk (stubborn and slow) but aakirnavihari, and (4) some horse is khalunk and also khalunk-vihari.
In the same way manushya (men) are of four kinds—(1) some man is wise and behaves wisely as well, (2) some man is wise but behaves like a fool, (3) some man is foolish but behaves like a wise person, and (4) some man is foolish and also behaves like a fool.
(here the first part of the statement is related to nature and the second part is related to behaviour.) जाति-पद JATI-PAD (SEGMENT OF MATERNAL LINEAGE)
४७०. चत्तारि पकंथगा पण्णत्ता, तं जहा-जातिसंपण्णे णाममेगे णो कुलसंपण्णे। [कुलसंपण्णे ; णाममेगे णो जातिसंपण्णे, एगे जातिसंपण्णेवि कुलसंपण्णेवि, एगे णो जातिसंपण्णे णो कुलसंपण्णे ]
एवामेव चत्तारि पुरिसजाया पण्णत्ता, तं जहा-जातिसंपण्णे णाममेगे चउभंगो। [णो कुलसंपण्णे, कुलसंपण्णे णाममेगे णो जातिसंपण्णे, एगे जातिसंपण्णेवि कुलसंपण्णेवि, एगे णो जातिसंपण्णे णो कुलसंपण्णे ]
४७०. घोड़े चार प्रकार के होते हैं-(१) कोई घोड़ा जातिसम्पन्न होता है, किन्तु कुलसम्पन्न नहीं होता। (२) कोई घोड़ा कुलसम्पन्न होता है, किन्तु जातिसम्पन्न नहीं। (३) कोई घोड़ा जातिसम्पन्न भी होता है और कुलसम्पन्न भी। (४) कोई घोड़ा न जातिसम्पन्न होता है और न कुलसम्पन्न होता है।
इसी प्रकार पुरुष भी चार प्रकार के होते हैं-(१) कोई जातिसम्पन्न होता है, कुल सम्पन्न नहीं। (२) कुलसम्पन्न होता है, जातिसम्पन्न नहीं। (३) जातिसम्पन्न भी, कुलसम्पन्न भी। (४) जातिसम्पन्न न कुलसम्पन्न।
470. Prakanthak (horse) are of four kinds-(1) Some horse in jati sampanna (of good maternal lineage) and not kula sampanna (of good paternal lineage). (2) Some horse is kula sampanna and not jati 4 sampanna. (3) Some horse is both jati sampanna and kula sampanna. (4) Some horse is neither jati sampanna nor kula sampanna.
