२२. पडिमापडिवण्णस्स णं अणगारस्स कप्पंति चत्तारि भासाओ भासित्तए, तं जहा-जायणी, पुच्छणी, अणुण्णवणी, पुट्ठस्स वागरणी।
२२. भिक्षु-प्रतिमाओं के धारक अनगार को चार भाषाएँ बोलना कल्पता है, जैसे-(१) याचनी भाषा-वस्त्रादि की याचना के लिए, (२) प्रच्छनी भाषा-सूत्र का अर्थ अथवा मार्ग आदि पूछने के लिए, (३) अनुज्ञापनी भाषा-स्थान आदि की आज्ञा लेने के लिए, और (४) प्रश्नव्याकरणी भाषा-पूछे गये प्रश्न है का उत्तर देने के लिए बोलना।
22. It is obligatory for an ascetic observing bhikshu-pratimas (special codes and resolutions for an ascetic) to use only four types of bhasha (speech; here manner of speech)-(1) yachani bhasha-manner of speech suited to seek alms, (2) prachchhani bhasha-manner of speech suited to seeking $ meaning of scriptures or a path, (3) anujnapani bhasha-manner of speech suited to seeking permission for a place to stay etc., and (4) prashnavyakarani bhasha-manner of speech suited to answering questions.
२३. चत्तारि भासाजाता पण्णत्ता, तं जहा-सच्चमेगं भासज्जायं, बीयं मोसं, तइयं सच्चमोसं, चउत्थं असच्चमोसं।
