[उ. ] गौतम ! वह यहाँ (मनुष्यलोक में) रहे हुए पुद्गलों को ग्रहण करके विकुर्वणा करता है, ! 卐 किन्तु न तो वहाँ रहे हुए पुद्गलों को ग्रहण करके विकुर्वणा करता है, और न ही अन्यत्र रहे हुए : पुद्गलों को ग्रहण करके विकुर्वणा करता है।
3. (Q.) Bhante ! Does he perform the said self-mutation by acquiring matter particles from here (the world of humans or adjoining areas) ? Does he perform the said self-mutation by acquiring matter particles from there (the divine realm or adjoining areas) ? Or does he perform the said self-mutation by acquiring matter particles from elsewhere (some area other then the said two areas)?
[Ans.] Gautam ! He performs the said self-mutation by acquiring matter particles from here. He does not perform the said self-mutation by acquiring matter particles from there (the divine realm). He also does not perform the said self-mutation by acquiring matter particles from
elsewhere. ॐ ४. एवं एगवण्णं अणेगरूवं चउभंगो जहा छट्ठसए नवमे उद्देसए (सू. ५) तहा इहावि भाणियव्वं।
[प्र. ] नवरं अणगारे इहगए चेव पोग्गले परियाइत्ता विकुब्वइ। सेसं तं चेव जाव लुक्खपोग्गलं ॐ निद्धपोग्गलत्ताए परिणामेत्तए ?
[उ. ] हंता, पभू। से भंते ! किं इहगए पोग्गले परियाइत्ता जाव (सू. ३) नो अन्नत्थगए पोग्गले 卐 परियाइत्ता विकुबइ।
__४. इस प्रकार (१) एकवर्ण एकरूप, (२) एकवर्ण अनेकरूप, (३) अनेकवर्ण एकरूप, और (४) + अनेकवर्ण अनेकरूप; यों चौभंगी का कथन जिस प्रकार छठे शतक के नौवें उद्देशक (सू. ५) में किया
है, उसी प्रकार यहाँ भी कहना चाहिए। किन्तु इतना विशेष है कि यहाँ रहा हुआ मुनि, यहाँ रहे हुए ॐ पुद्गलों को ग्रहण करके विकुर्वणा करता है। शेष सारा वर्णन उसी के अनुसार यहाँ भी कहना चाहिए।
[प्र. ] भगवन् ! क्या रूक्ष पुद्गलों को स्निग्ध पुद्गलों के रूप में परिणत करने में समर्थ है ? __[उ.] हाँ, गौतम ! समर्थ है। भगवन् ! क्या वह यहाँ रहे हुए पुद्गलों को ग्रहण करके यावत् (सू. ३) अन्यत्र रहे हुए पुद्गलों को ग्रहण किये बिना विकुर्वणा करता है ? यहाँ तक कहना चाहिए।
four alternatives of self-mutation described in the aforesaid statement should be stated as mentioned in Chapter 6, Lesson 9 (aphorism 5)-(1) of single colour and single form (or shape), (2) of single colour and many forms (or shapes), (3) of many colours and single form (or shape), and (4) of many colours and many forms (or shapes). The only difference being that the ascetic here performs self-mutation with the help of matter available here. Rest of the details should be repeated verbatim.
