the buyer has taken the delivery of the goods he is liable to greater involvement and seller to mild involvement. (5) If the buyer has purchased the goods but not paid the money then buyer is liable to greater involvement in activities including arambhiki related to that amount and the seller to a mild involvement. (6) When the buyer has paid the money he is liable to mild involvement and the seller to a greater involvement in all the four activities related to that amount.
Why mild and greater ?-(1) While searching for the stolen goods the seller makes special efforts, therefore he is liable to a greater involvement in the said activities. However, when he recovers the goods his efforts to search come to an end and consequently the involvement becomes mild. (2) As long as the sold goods remain with the seller, he owns them. This results in greater involvement but when the goods are taken away by the buyer, it is the buyer who is liable to greater involvement and seller to mild only. (3) As long as the money is not paid by the buyer it belongs to the buyer and he is liable to greater 5 involvement in all activities related to the money but the seller to a mild one. But when the money is paid to the seller it is the seller who is liable to greater involvement and the buyer to a mild one.
The inference is that those who possess things or money are liable to greater involvement and those who do not are liable to mild involvement.
अग्निकाय : महाकर्म या अल्पकर्म FIRE-BODIES : INTENSE AND MILD KARMAS
९. [प्र. ] अगणिकाए णं भंते ! अहुणोजलिए समाणे महाकम्मतराए चेव; महाकिरिय-महासवमहावेयणतराए चेव भवति। अहे णं समए समए वोक्कसिज्जमाणे वोक्कसिज्जमाणे वोच्छिज्जमाणे चरिमकालसमयंसि इंगालभूते मुम्मरभूते छारियभूते, तओ पच्छा अप्पकम्मतराए चेव, अप्पकिरिया अप्पासव-अप्पवेदणतराए चेव भवति ? [उ. ] हंता, गोयमा ! अगणिकाए णं अहुणोज्जलिते समाणे तं चं चेव।
९. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! तत्काल प्रज्वलित अग्निकाय क्या महाकर्मयुक्त, तथा महाक्रिया, महास्रव और महावेदना से युक्त होता है ? और इसके पश्चात् समय-समय में प्रतिक्षण क्रमशः कम होता हुआ-बुझता ॐ हुआ तथा अन्तिम समय में (जब) अंगारभूत, मुर्मुरभूत, (भोभर-सा हुआ) और भस्मभूत (राख) हो जाता है (तब) क्या वह अग्निकाय अल्पकर्मयुक्त तथा अल्पक्रिया, अल्पास्रव, अल्पवेदना से युक्त होता है ?
[उ. ] हाँ, गौतम ! तत्काल प्रज्वलित अग्निकाय महाकर्मयुक्त होता है (और भस्मभूत होने के 9 पश्चात्) यावत् अल्पवेदनायुक्त होता है।
