kriya (sinful activity)... and so on up to... mithyadarshan-pratyayiki kriya (activity of perverted faith)? And is the buyer liable to get involved in arambhiki kriya (sinful activity)... and so on up to... ?
[Ans.] Gautam ! For these goods that buyer is liable of involvement in four activities from arambhiki kriya (sinful activity) to apratyakhyaniki kriya (activity of non-renunciation). As regards mithyadarshanpratyayiki kriya (activity of perverted faith) it is optional (bhajana) (this means he is liable if he is unrighteous and not if he is not). And the seller is liable of involvement in all the said activities (including optional involvement in mithyadarshan-pratyayiki kriya) only to a very mild degree.
८. [प्र. ] गाहावइस्स णं भंते ! भंडं जाव धणे य से अणुवणीए सिया ?
[उ. ] एयं पि जहा 'भंडे उवणीए' तहा नेयव्वं। चउत्थो आलावगो-धणे य से उवणीए सिया जहा पढमो आलावगो ‘भंडे य से अणुवणीए सिया' तहा नेयव्यो। पढम-चउत्थाणं एक्को गमो। बितियतइयाणं एक्को गमो।
८. [प्र. ] भगवन् ! भाण्ड-विक्रेता गृहस्थ से खरीददार ने माल खरीद लिया, किन्तु जब तक उस 卐 विक्रेता को उस माल का मूल्य रूप धन नहीं मिला, तब तक, हे भगवन् ! उस खरीददार को उस
अनुपनीत धन से कितनी क्रियाएँ लगती हैं ? (साथ ही) उस विक्रेता को कितनी क्रियाएँ लगती हैं ?
[उ. ] गौतम ! यह आलापक भी उपनीत भाण्ड (खरीददार द्वारा ले जाये जाने वाले किराने) के आलापक के समान समझना चाहिए। चतुर्थ आलापक-यदि धन उपनीत हो तो प्रथम आलाप, (जोकि अनुपनीत भाण्ड के विषय में कहा है) के समान समझना चाहिए। (सारांश यह है कि) पहला और चौथा आलापक समान है।
8. [Q.] Bhante ! The buyer has purchased the goods from the seller (but not made the payment), now till the payment has not been received by the seller, Bhante ! in how many activities is the buyer liable of involvement due to that unpaid amount ? Also in how many activities is the seller liable of involvement ?
(Ans.) Gautam ! In such a situation the position is similar to the fourth statement where the delivery of the goods has been taken. If the money has been given, the situation is similar to the first statement where the delivery of the goods has not yet been taken. (Which means that) Statements one and four are similar and statements two and three are similar.
