"धर्म एक पुराना भ्रम है, वह केवल एक भावावेश है। पर धर्म के विषय में प्रचलित इन विचारों की पोल आज के नवीन विज्ञान ने खोल दी है। मानव मस्तिष्क से उक्त असत्य और हानिकारक विचारों को समूल मिटा देने की आज अत्यन्त आवश्यकता है। इनको हटाने का सर्वोत्तम उपाय यही है कि विज्ञान ही अपने श्रेष्ठ विद्यार्थियों के मुंह से बोले'।"
“यह पुराना भौतिकवादी मत है, इसको चाहे तो हैकल का मत कह सकते हैं। मैं आप को यह बताऊँ कि यह मत बहुत ही पुराना और असामयिक है।"
"जड़वाद के जितने भी मत गत बीस वर्षों में रखे गये हैं, वे यात्मवाद के विचार पर आधारित हैं, यही नवीन विज्ञान है।"
"थोड़े समय पूर्व वैज्ञानिक क्षेत्र में नास्तिक होना किसी सीमा तक एक फैशन की बात थी। परन्तु आज जो आदमी अपनी नास्तिकता पर गर्व करता है, उसे बुरा समझा जाता है। उसकी बड़ाई नहीं होती। नास्तिकता फैशन की वस्तु है यह पहले वाला दृष्टिकोण अब नहीं है। इसका श्रेय विज्ञान को है ।" ,
1. The suggestion was assiduously conveyed that religion was an outworn superstition, a morbid sentiment, or a phase of hysteria; all of which had been exposed by modern science. These misleading and harmful impressions need to be dispelled. The best way of dispelling them is to let science herself speak through the lips of her chief exponents.
