BHARTAMARA DARSHAN .. रक्तेक्षणं समद-कोकिल-कण्ठनीलं क्रोधोद्धतं फणिन-मुत्फण-मापतन्तम् ।
आक्रामति क्रमयुगेन निरस्त-शङ्क
स्त्वन्-नाम-नागदमनी हृदि यस्य पुंसः ॥३७॥ Raktekşaņaṁ samada-kokila-kaņķhanilam krodhoddhatam phanina-mutphana-māpatantam | Ãkrãmati kramayugena nirasta-sanka - stvan-nāma nāgadamani hrdi yasya pumsah ||37||
રક્તક્ષણં સમદ-કોકિલ-કઠનીલ ક્રોધોદ્ધત ફણિન-મુલ્ફણ-માપતન્તમ્ આક્રામતિ ક્રમયુગેન નિરસ્ત-શકું
સ્વનુ-નામ-નાગદમની હદિ યસ્ય પુસઃ ૩૭. GIIIIIIII
हे सर्पभयनिवारक ! जिस पुरुष के हृदय में आपके नाम रूपी नागदमनी (साँप को वशमें रखने का मंत्र) है, वह पुरुष लाल आंखों वाले, मत्त बनी हुई कोयल के कण्ठ समान श्याम, क्रोध के भार से उँची उठी हुई फणा वाले सांप को भी शंकासे रहित होकर अपने दोनों पैरों से दबा सकता है ।
હે પ્રભુ ! જે પુરુષના હૃદયમાં તારા નામ રૂપી નાગદમની છે, તે પુરુષ લાલઘૂમ આંખવાળા, (વિષ વડે) કોયલના કંઠ જેવા કાળા, ક્રોધથી ધમધમતા ફૂંફાડા મારતા અને ઊંચી ફણાવાળા સાપને સામે આવતો જોઇને પણ નિઃશંકપણે પોતાના બેઉ પગ વડે તેને ઓળંગી જાય છે.
Oh my Lord ! An enraged snake rushes vehemently. Its eyes sparkle like carbuncles and poisonous black throat resembling the swollen neck of an overjoyed cuckoo.
However, Your Bhakta has no fear, because he is reciting Your name all the time. Your name works as Nagadamani (नागदमनी), [the ancient herb to neutralise the effect of snake poison.) Your Bhakta is aware of this and hence, without any fright whatsoever, he crosses the cobra. The killer cobra becomes a tiny harmless insect before Your Bhakta.
My God, I am not afraid of any such snake; but there is a most ferrocious cobra-in the form of an anger-in my mind. Please control my tongue of anger, which is ever ready to quarrel with others. Please protect me from the cobra of anger, because its single bite can destroy my age-old penance.
