म पढमसए (स. १ उ. ५)। नवरं संखेज्जवित्थडेसु वि असंखेज्जवित्थडेसु वि ओहिनाणी ॥ ॐ ओहिदसणी य संखेज्जा उव्वट्टावेयव्वा, सेसं तं चेव।
९. [प्र.] भगवन् ! इस रत्नप्रभा पृथ्वी के तीस लाख नरकावासों में से असंख्यात योजन भी विस्तार वाले नरकों में (१) एक समय में कितने नैरयिक जीव उत्पन्न होते है; (२-३९) यावत् फ़ कितने अनाकारोपयोग वाले नैरयिक जीव उत्पन्न होते हैं?
[उ.] गौतम ! इस रत्नप्रभा पृथ्वी के तीस लाख नरकावासों में से असंख्यात योजन विस्तार + वाले नरकों में एक समय में जघन्य से एक, दो अथवा तीन और उत्कृष्ट से असंख्यात नैरयिक
जीव उत्पन्न होते हैं। जिस प्रकार संख्यात (योजन) विस्तार वाले (नरकावासों के विषय में सू. ॐ ६-७-८ में उत्पाद, उद्वर्तना और सत्ता) ये तीन आलापक (गमक) कहे गए हैं, उसी प्रकार + असंख्यात योजन वाले नरकावासों के विषय में भी तीन आलापक जानने चाहिए। केवल इनमें ॐ विशेषता इतनी है कि 'संख्यात' के बदले 'असंख्यात' कहना चाहिए। (४९) शेष सभी यावत्
'असंख्यात अचरम कहे गए हैं', (यहाँ तक पूर्ववत् कहना चाहिए)। इनमें लेश्याओं में नानात्व म (विभिन्नता) है। लेश्या सम्बन्धी कथन प्रथम शतक (श. १, उ. ५) के अनुसार कहना चाहिए।
इनमें केवल विशेष इतना ही है कि संख्यात (योजन) और असंख्यात (योजन) विस्तार वाले भी नरकावासों में से अवधिज्ञानी और अवधिदर्शनी संख्यात ही उद्वर्तन करते हैं, ऐसा कहना चाहिए। के शेष सभी कथन पूर्ववत् करना चाहिए।

infernal beings (jivas) are born ?... and so on up to... (2-39) How many 5. Anaakaaropayoga (having inclination towards right perception/faith) beings 41 are born ? 5 . [Ans.] Gautam ! Out of the three million infernal abodes, in this
Ratnaprabha Prithvi (the first hell), in those having uncountable Yojan + area, in one Samay (indivisible fractional unit of time)-A minimum of one,
two or three and a maximum of countable number of infernal beings (jivas) are born. Repeat the three statements (6,7 and 8 about infernal abodes with limited expanse in context of birth, death and existence (sthiti; life-span of infernal beings, up to 39); the remaining up to 49 also follow the same
pattern... and so on up to... (49) innumerable acharam jivas. There is a 卐 little difference with regard to soul-complexions (leshyas). The statement
