[Ans.] Sudarshan ! When the Paurushi of day or night has the f maximum span of four and a half Muhurts then by gradual reduction of 122nd fraction of Muhurt it gets the minimum span of three Muhurts; also, when the Paurushi of day or night has the minimum span of three Muhurts then by gradual addition of 122nd fraction of Muhurt it gains the maximum span of four and a half Muhurts.
१०. [प्र.] कया णं भंते ! उक्कोसिआ अद्धपंचममुहुत्ता दिवसस्स वा इ पोरसी भवइ ? कया वा जहन्निया तिमुहुत्ता दिवस्स वा राइए वा पोरिसी भवइ ?
[ उ. ] सुदंसणा ! जया णं उक्कोसए अट्ठारसमुहुत्ते दिवसे भवइ, जहन्निया दुवालसमुहुत्ता राइ भवइ तया णं उक्कोसिया अद्धपंचममुहुत्ता दिवस्स पोरिसी भवइ, जहन्नियातिमुहुत्ता राइए पोरिसी भवइ। जया णं उक्कोसिया अट्ठारसमुहुत्ता राइ भवइ, जहन्नए दुवालसमुत् दिवसे भवइ तया णं मुक्कोसिया अद्धपंचममुहुत्ता राइए पोरिसी भवइ, हनिया

१०. [प्र.] भगवन् ! दिवस और रात्रि की उत्कृष्ट साढ़े चार मुहूर्त्त की पौरुषी कब होती है और जघन्य तीन मुहूर्त की पौरुषी कब होती है ?
[उ.] हे सुदर्शन! जब उत्कृष्ट अट्ठारह मुहूर्त्त का दिन होता है तथा जघन्य बारह मुहूर्त्त की छोटी रात्रि होती है, तब साढ़े चार मुहूर्त्त की दिवस की उत्कृष्ट पौरुषी होती है और रात्रि की तीन मुहूर्त्त की सबसे छोटी पौरुषी होती है। जब उत्कृष्ट अट्ठारह मुहूर्त्त की बड़ी रात्रि होती है और जघन्य बारह मुहूर्त्त का छोटा दिन होता है, तब साढ़े चार मुहूर्त की उत्कृष्ट रात्रि - पौरुषी होती है और तीन मुहूर्त्त की जघन्य दिवस - पौरुषी होती है।
