सत्रहवाँ उद्देशक THE SEVENTEENTH CHAPTER
प्राथमिकी INTRODUCTION
इस उद्देशक में श्रमण को कौतूहल से त्रस प्राणियों को रस्सी आदि से बाँधने व खोलने, अनेक परे तरह की मालाएँ, कड़े, आभूषण बनाने व रखने, गृहस्थों से शरीर परिकर्म, बन्दे बर्तन खुलवाकर और
आहार लेने, सचित्त पृथ्वी पर रखे हुए आहार को लेने, तत्काल बने हुए अचित्त शीतल जल लेने, स्वयं को आचार्य पद योग्य कहलवाने, विविध वाद्य बजाने, हँसने, नृत्य करने, पशुओं की तरह आवाज निकालने, विविध वाद्यों को सुनने के लिए ललकाने, शब्द श्रवण के प्रति आसंक्ति रखने और आदि का निषेध किया गया है। जो श्रमण निषेध की अवहेलना कर इन प्रवृत्तियों को करता है और अथवा इनका समर्थन करता है उसके लिए लघुचौमासी प्रायश्चित्त का विधान है।
