प्राथमिकी INTRODUCTION
इस उद्देशक में साधक को 'सागारिक शैय्या' में प्रवेश करने का, , सचित्त ईख, गण्डेरी आदि खाने या चूसने का, अरण्य में रहने वालों, जाने वालों, अटवी की यात्रा करने वालों का अशन-पान लेने का, असंयमी को संयमी तथा संयमी को असंयमी कहने का, कलह करने वाले तीर्थिकों अशन-पान आदि ग्रहण करने का, अनार्य देश में विहार करने का, जुगुप्सित कुलों से अशन-पान आदि ग्रहण करने का एवं वहाँ पर स्वाध्याय आदि करने का, अन्यतीर्थिक या गृहस्थों के साथ भोजन ग्रहण करने का, आगमोक्त परिमाण एवं प्रमाण से अधिक उपधि रखने का, सचित्त भूमि अथवा जीव विराधना वाले स्थानों पर मल-मूत्र विसर्जित करने आदि का निषेध किया गया है। जो श्रमण इन प्रवृत्तियों को करके अपने संयमी जीवन को विकृत बनाता है उसे लघुचौमासी प्रायश्चित्त करना होता है।

The ascetic who discards his restraint life by performing these activities a laghu-chaumasi expiation come to him.
