THE PRINCIPLE OF REVERSION
Reversion is the action of Tao. Gentleness is the function of Tao. The things of this world come from Being, And Being comes from Non-Being.
Chapter 41 : Part 1 QUALITIES OF THE TAOIST
When the highest type of men hear the Tao (truth), They try hard to live in accordance with it. When the mediocre type hear the Tao, They seem to be aware and yet unaware of it. When the lowest type hear the Tao, they break into loud laughter-- If it were not laughed at, it would not be Tao. Therefore there is the established saying: Who understands Tao seems to be dull of comprehension; Who is advanced in Tao seems to slip backwards; Who seems to move on the even Tao (Path) seems to up and down.

प्रतिक्रमण ताओ का कर्म हुँ। आँर भद्रता ताओ का व्यवहार हैं। संसार की वस्तुएं अस्तित्व से पैदा होती हैं, आँन अस्तित्व अनस्तित्व से आता है।

সঞ্জীষ্মেী জুট জুতাগ্রস্ত
जब सर्वश्रेष्ठ प्रकार के लोग ताओ को सुनते हैं, तब वे उसके अनुसार जीने की अथक चेष्टा करते हैं। जब मध्यम प्रकार के लोग ताओ को सनते है, तब वे उसे जानते से भी लगते हैं और नहीं जानते से भी।
आँन जब निकृष्ट प्रकार के लोग ताओ को सुनते हैं, तब वे अट्टहास कर उठते हैं-मानो इस पर यदि ठंसा न जाए, तो यह ताओ नहीं हैं। इसलिए यह प्रसिद्ध कठावत हैं: जो ताओ को समझता है, उसकी बुद्धि मंद मालूम पड़ती है, जो ताओ में खूब गतिवान हैं, वह बार-बार पिछड़ता मालूम पड़ता है। आँन जो समतल ताओ (पथ) पर चलता है, वह ऊपर-नीचे होता दिनवता हैं।
