THE FOUR ETERNAL MODELS
Before the Heaven and Earth existed There was something nebulous: Silent, isolated, Standing alone, changing not, Eternally revolving without fail, Worthy to be the Mother of all things. I do not know its name, And address it as Tao. If forced to give it a name, I shall call it 'Great'. Being great implies reaching out in space, Reaching out in space implies far-reaching, Far-reaching implies reversion to the original point.

গু জ্বালি গুড়েী
स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी के अस्तित्व में आने के पूर्व सब कुछ कोहरे से भरा था: माँन, पृथक, एकाकी खड़ा और अपरिवर्तित, नित्य व निरंतर घूमता हुआ, सभी चीजों की जननी बनने योग्य। मैं उसका नाम नहीं जानता हूं,
और उसे ताओ कह कर पुकारता हूं। यदि मुझे नाम देना ही पड़े तो मैं उसे मठान करूंगा। मठान होने का अर्थ है अंतरिक्ष में फैलाव की क्षमता, और अंतरिक्ष में फैलाव की क्षमता ह दूरगामी, यही दूरगामिता मूल बिंदु की ओर प्रतिगामिता भी है।
