The name of this metre is mentioned before every kadavaka-beginning-piece of this Sandhi. This metre is so used by स्वयंभू in his पउमचरिउ and पुष्पदंत in his महापुराणु. It is mentioned as a four-line metre in Chn. 4.65 in the खनकप्रकरण. It is identical with faqat in Chn. 4.64 as it does not satisfy the definition of fear in Chn. 4.65 which requires the first 24 to be vuvy, while the fear of our text agrees in having a caesura after 7 मात्राs. Thus the scheme is as follows :
1 षणमात्रा +5 चतुर्मात्रs i.e.5x4 = 20 + -i.e.2 मात्राs = 28 मात्राs. .
[Chn. 4.64 : षश्चगौ द्वितीयषष्ठी जो ली; द्विपदी॥ but द्विपदी has no definite यति; (while रचिता has slight यति at the 7th मात्रा) and the first चतुर्मात्र is all लघु; otherwise रचिता is at first like द्विपदी. Our रचिता has a यति at the 7th मात्रा but the first चर्तुमात्र is not all लघु. Again द्विपदी and रचिता are of 28 मात्राs.]
