Verbs A. Present Indicative :
This is the indefinite present tense indicating immediate present, future, subjunctive etc.
(a) 1st. pers. sg. -मि is the only termination.e.g. णवमि 1.1.8.; मण्णमि 3.11.5. by the side of the forms like मग्गेमि 4.17.1.; मि as वि is also found : तूसिवि = sk. तोषयामि 9.2.9. used to show the immediate future. उ the termination noted by Hc. is conspicuous by its absence. No instance of the 1st. pers. pl. is found.
(b) 2nd pers. sg. हि is the termination; -शि is more often used. Besides -अहि, -असि, -एहि, -एसि are also used : रोवहि, सोअहि 2.8.9.; चएहि 4.4.10.; गहेहि 4.5.9.; दीसहि, भासहि 3.2.7. रजहि, पओजहि 4.2.5. In subjunctive sense : जीवावहि, भावहि 8.10.3.; पमग्गा for पमग्गहि 2.4.3.
2nd pers. pl. .हु: वियारहु 4.7.11.; मारहु 6.10.13.; वियारहु 6 10.13.
(c) 3rd pers. sg. -अs and -एइ : परिपेक्खइ 1.3.2.; पोसइ 1.3.3. Sometimes •s is -ए: आवए, धावए 4.3.5.; दीसए, सीसइ 1.12.8. ; जणेइ 1.4.1. etc.
3rd pers. pl. -अहि; -अंति: भावहि ; ठावहि 1.10.9.; अच्छहि 3.5.5.; गसंति 3.5.11.; वहंति 1.4.2.; पवुच्चहिं, वंचर्हि 4.2.7. B. Future :
The forms of the future have the same terminations as of the present. Only the base is formed by adding -एस and -एह or -इह : होसमि 3.17.5.; जाणेसमि 3.17.7.; देसमि 4.16.3. ; 1st pers. pl. ढोएसइं, विरएसहुं 9.3.4. 2nd. pers. sg. होसइ, पोसेसइ 7.7.11. 2nd pers. pl. जाएसदु 7.7.12.; णिहणेसहु, हवेसहु 7.7.13. 3rd. pers. sg. होसइ, पोसेस 7.7.11.: आवहि. दावहि 3.15.14.; होही 5.6.1.; जाणेसइ, हवेसइ 4.22.10, 3rd pers. pl. अच्छेसिहि, पिच्छेसिहि 5.14.13/14. पावसहि 6.4.7.; होसिहि 7.8.11.
The future of both -स and - types is found. C. Imperative :
(a) 2nd pers. sg.
(i) -हि: पेच्छहि 1.7.11.; आहासहि 1.7.15.3; अक्खहि 1.8.5.; स्वहि 4.9.13.; मग्गेहि 4.10.2.; करेहि 4.15.10. (Note अ+ हि along with y + हि.)
(ii) Nil : पिच्छ 2.9.13. (iii) -इ : सुणि 1.8.7.; सेवि 4.5.14.; करि 2.9.16.; भाणि 2.7.11. (iv) -उ: भणु 4.22.9. (v) -सु: खमसु (<sk. स्व Atm.)3.7.2. (b) 2nd pers. pl. - (i) -हु: कुणहु 3.11.1.; करहु 5.13.13. (ii) हो: आणहो, मारहो 4.3.9/10. (c) 3rd pers. sg. (i) -उ: पयासउ-विणास 1.2.7.; होउ 3,18.6.
