Lect. 1. through the city to the place where the reverend Samana Mahāvīra was, and having done so he solemnly circumambulated him three times and having done so he saluted him and bowed down to him, and having done so he spoke thus : ''I, having taken your permission, entered the midst of the city of Miyagāma and went to the house of Miyādevî. Then that Miyādevî, on seeing me going towards her became delighted (here all the rest to be supplied down to ) ate awar the pus and blood. Then a thought of this kinil occured to me: “Oh, this boy experiences (here the rest to be supplied).” . 5, 6. Then Göyama jurther asked the reverend Samana : “ Oh, Vencrable Sir ! who was that man in his former birth? What was his name and what was his family ? In whut village or in what town and having given what or having enjoyed what or having done what or on accont of what bad acts of former birth (here the rest to be supplied down to) experiences etc.? Having accosted Goyama,' 'the Reverned Samana Mahāvīra spoke to Goyama thus : “ Oh, Goyama ! truly, at that' time and at that period, in this country of Bhāraha in the continent of Jambuddiva, there was a city called Sayadu vāra which was prosperous and free from any kind of fear (here its description to be given).
