नित्रणा: सुदृढा वृक्षा लिङ्गार्थे सौख्यदायकाः। ग्रन्थिकोटरसंयुक्तान् शाखोद्भूतान् परित्यजेत् ॥ ६८ ॥

Wood which is unmarked (or not cut, bruised or spoilt in appearance), and is strong and fine-looking is auspicious for Siva-lingas. However, wood which is gnarled and has knots should be avoided. (68). शिवलिङ्ग के योग्य प्रासाद
निलयं दारुलिङ्गाना - मिष्टंकादारुजं शुभम्।
शैलजं धातुलिङ्गानां स्वरूपं वाधिकं शुभम् ॥ ६९ ॥
काष्ठ के शिवलिङ्ग का प्रासाद ईंट का अथवा काष्ठ का बनाना शुभ है। धातु और रल के शिवलिङ्ग का प्रासाद पाषाण का अथवा शिवलिङ्ग की जाति का बनाना शुभ है।
Shrines housing wooden Siva-lingas can be made of brick or of wood. These are appropriate and auspicious, In the same way, it is auspicious if Siva-lingas made from stone, jewels (including precious and semi-precious stones), and metal are enshrined within buildings made of the same material as the Siva-linga, or alternatively, in structures built from stone. (69).
पाषाण लिङ्ग का मान
एक हस्तादिमं लिङ्गं हस्तवृद्ध्या नवान्तिकम् । शैललिङ्गस्य मानं तु हस्तहीनं न कारयेत् ॥ ७० ॥ हस्तादिपादवृद्ध्या च त्रयस्त्रिंशत् क्रमेण वै।
