शालिग्रामशिलाग्रे तु यो जुहोति हुताशनम् । एकाहुतिर्हता सम्यक् कल्पकोटिगुणोत्तरा ॥ एतस्मिन् पूजिते देवे त्रैलोक्यं पूजितं भवेत् ॥६३ ॥..
इति शालिग्रामपरीक्षा। शालिग्राम शिला के आगे अग्नि में होम कर एक भी आहुति अच्छी तरह देवे तो वह आहुति करोड़ों कल्प के पुण्य को देने वाली होती है। इस प्रकार वह देवों से पूजित होने से तीनों लोक में पूजनीय है।
Even a single oblation offered correctly in a sacrifical fire before a shaligrama shila will bring down blessings for one crore (10 million) kalpas for the worshipper". Such a devotee will be worthy of honour from the gods themselves and will be revered in the three lokas (or worlds-namely Heaven, Earth and the Netherworld). (63).

A kalpa is one day of Brahma, and is equal to 1000 yugas • a period of 432 million years for mortals.
