४५. मूलकर्म-प्रयोग: विवाह-दृष्टांत
चन्द्रानना नगरी में धनदत्त नामक सार्थवाह था। उसकी पत्नी का नाम चन्द्रमुखा था। एक दिन उन दोनों के बीच कलह हो गया। अभिनिवेश के कारण उसने उसी नगर में रहने वाली किसी धनाढ्य सेठ की पुत्री के साथ दूसरा विवाह करने का निश्चय कर लिया। चन्द्रमुखा को जब यह बात ज्ञात हुई तो उसके मन में अधृति पैदा हो गई। इसी बीच जंघापरिजित नामक साधु उसके घर भिक्षार्थ आया । उसको खेद-खिन्न देखकर साधु ने उससे खिन्नता का कारण पूछा। चन्द्रमुखा ने अपनी सौत आने का वृत्तान्त साधु को बताया। साधु ने उसे औषधि देते हुए कहा - ' किसी भी तरह भक्त या पान में उसे यह औषध खिला दो, जिससे वह भिन्नयोनिका हो जाएगी। उसके बाद अपने पति को इस बारे में बता देना, जिससे वह उसके साथ विवाह नहीं करेगा ।' उसने वैसा ही किया । भिन्नयोनिका की बात ज्ञात होने पर पति ने उसके साथ विवाह नहीं किया ।
४६. गर्भ - परिशाटन एवं आदान : राजपनिद्वय दृष्टांत
संयुग नामक नगर में सिंधुराज नामक राजा राज्य करता था । उसके अंतःपुर में दो प्रधान रानियां थीं, जिनका नाम शृंगारमति और जयसुंदरी था। एक बार शृंगारमति गर्भवती हुई। 'इसके अवश्य पुत्र होगा ' यह सोचकर जयसुंदरी ईर्ष्यावश खेद - खिन्न रहने लगी। इसी बीच कोई साधु आया। उसने पूछा - 'तुम इतनी चिन्ताग्रस्त क्यों दिखाई देती हो ?' तब उसने अपनी सौत के होने वाले गर्भाधान के विषय में बताया। साधु बोला- 'तुम चिन्ता मत करो, मैं तुम्हारा भी गर्भाधान करवा दूंगा।' तब जयसुंदरी ने कहा- 'यद्यपि आपकी कृपा से मेरे पुत्र हो जाएगा लेकिन वह कनिष्ठ होने के कारण युवराज नहीं बन पाएगा । ज्येष्ठ होने कारण सौत का पुत्र ही राज्य का अधिकारी बनेगा।' साधु ने जयसुंदरी को गर्भाधान तथा शृंगारमति के लिए गर्भपात हेतु औषधि दी । २

४७. द्रव्य ग्रहणैषणा : वानरयूथ-दृष्टांत
विशालभृंग नामक पर्वत था । उसके एक वनखण्ड में वानरों का समूह रमण करता था। उ पर्वत पर दूसरा वनखण्ड भी सब प्रकार के पुष्प फल आदि से समृद्ध था। उसके मध्यभाग में स्थित हृद में एक शिशुमार रहता था । जो कोई मृग आदि पशु पानी पीने हेतु हृद में प्रवेश करते, वह उन सबको खींचकर खा जाता था। एक बार पुष्प और फलों से रहित वनखण्ड को देखकर वानर यूथपति ने जीवन निर्वाह योग्य अन्य वनखण्ड की खोज हेतु वानरयुगल को भेजा। खोज करके वानरयुगल ने यूथाधिपति को निवेदन किया- ' 'अमुक प्रदेश में एक वनखण्ड है, जो सब ऋतुओं में पुष्प फल आदि से समृद्ध तथा हमारे जीवन-यापन के योग्य है ।' यूथाधिपति अपने यूथ के साथ वहां गया। वह समस्त वनखण्ड को ध्यान से देखने लगा। यूथपति ने जल से परिपूर्ण हृद को देखा। हृद में प्रवेश करते हुए श्वापदों के पदचिह्न थे

Due to attachment, he decided to marry another woman, the daughter of a wealthy Seth living in the same city. When Chandramukha learned about this, she became distressed. Meanwhile, a sadhu named Janghaparijit came to their house for alms. Seeing her sorrow, the sadhu asked her the reason for her distress. Chandramukha told the sadhu about her impending co-wife. The sadhu gave her a medicine and said, "In any way, feed her this medicine in bhakta or pan, which will make her a bhinnayonika. Then she told him about her co-wife's impending pregnancy. The sadhu said, "Don't worry, I will make you pregnant too." Then Jayasundari said, "Although I will have a son by your grace, he will not be able to become the crown prince because he will be the younger one. Due to being the elder, the co-wife's son will be the rightful heir to the kingdom." The sadhu gave Jayasundari medicine for pregnancy and Shringarमति medicine for abortion. 2

There was a mountain called Vishalbhṛnga. In one of its forest tracts, a group of monkeys roamed. On that mountain, there was another forest tract, rich in all kinds of flowers, fruits, etc. In the heart of that forest tract, there lived a crocodile. Whoever entered the heart of the forest tract to drink water, be it a deer or any other animal, he would drag them in and eat them. Once, seeing the forest tract devoid of flowers and fruits, the monkey troop leader sent a pair of monkeys to search for another forest tract suitable for their livelihood. After searching, the pair of monkeys requested the troop leader, "There is a forest tract in such and such a region, which is rich in flowers, fruits, etc., in all seasons and suitable for our livelihood." The troop leader went there with his troop. He began to look at the entire forest tract carefully. The troop leader saw the heart filled with water. There were footprints of quadrupeds entering the heart.
