________________ SOURCES OF HEMACANDRA'S KAVYANUSASANA nen Hemacandra's Kavyanusasana is a very fine textbook on alamkarasastra. It is remarkable for its free use of the illustrious alaskara works that preceded it, as well as for its wealth of illustrations. It is admittedly a lucid compendium of the subject of poetics as developed by previous writers, most prominent of them being Bharata, Dandi, Vamana, Rudrata, Rajasekhara (KM), Kuntaka Abhinavagupta (Abh. and Locana), Dhanamjaya-Dhanika, Mahimabhatta, Bhoja (SK and SP), Ksemendra, Mammata and Rucaka or Ruyyaka (Samketa).
