INTEGRAL YOGA WITH SWAMI SATCHIDANANDA
L.M.: What are the key teachings of Integral Yoga meditation?
S. SATCH: Meditation aims to help you have, to help you get a grip, over your own mind. It begins with the body—by way of doing some yoga postures, you gain control over the bodily actions and bodily functions. From there you go on to the vital body, the breathing. You learn how to get a grip over the breath.
L.M.: The prana.
S. SATCH: Pranayama—so there is slow, regular, deep breathing—and then, a little control. There are different types of pranayama.
L.M.: It's not an exaggerated breathing, or straining.
