How to Use This Book
The Psychology of Enlightenment: Meditations on the Seven Energy Centers is a meditation handbook. Its purpose is to instruct students of meditation in a technique for unfolding and experiencing their inner energy, as developed by the ancient meditative traditions in India. According to this teaching, there are seven centers of energy within the body, corresponding to seven levels of consciousness or awareness. Through these centers, we experience different aspects of our inner life-force. The flow of energy at each of these points may be partially obstructed by our accumulated fears, our unchecked drives, and our wrong perception. Through meditation, we are able to recognize and remove these hindrances and restore the flow of our creative life-energy.
This book is based on a series of lectures given by Gurudev Shree Chitrabhanu. Each of the first seven chapters deals with a specific energy center and suggests a method of meditation for that particular aspect of energy. The eighth chapter applies the psychology of the seven centers to gain
