In the Dasavaikalika Sūtra, Acarya Sayyambhava has referred to the Sacelakatva as not contrary to the rules. It would not be considered as parigraha. It was, perhaps at the time of Bhadrabahu after nearly 160 years of the Nirvana of Mahavira, the distinction became prominently argued and felt.
