________________ HISTORY OF JAINA MONACHISM 547 KASTHA SANGHA : According to Darśanasāra of Devasenasūri,256 Kumārasena is said to have founded it at Nanditaţagrāma in V.S. 753. Vacanakośa, however, attributes it to one Lohācārya at Agaroha. According to the latter source Lohācārya laid down the worship of wooden images. According to Pandit PREMI, the latter interpretation is wrong, and he says that the distinct practice of this group was the use of a broom of cow's tail. In later days it was called 'jainābhāsa' because the monks belonging to this Sangha lived in monasteries and accepted grants of land.257 (a) Amnāyas : (1) Jinakirti258 (2) Lohācārya259 (3) Rāmasena 260 (b) Anvayas : (1) Agrotaka261 (2) Khandelavāla262 (3) Lohācāryya263 (4) Māthura264 (5) Rāmasena 265 (c) Gacchas: (1) Bāgada266 (2) Lāda-Bāgada267 (3) Manditaţa268 After place-names.
