________________ (६७१) मूढस्य भावः मौढ्यम् । तस्मात् । अनुचितम् - improper, wicked. न उचितं समञ्जसं अनुचितम् । 'उचितं तु समञ्जसे । अनुमत्यां मिताऽभ्यस्तज्ञाते च त्रिषु च त्रिषु' इति विश्वलोचने. कृतं - deed. न मर्षितम् - was not put up with. असितनयने - having red eyes. असितं - other than white i. e. red. न सितं शुभं असितं । In Sanskrt literature serpents are generally described as having red eyes. असिते रक्तवर्णे नयने यस्य सः । तस्मिन् । कौलिनात् - on the strength of malicious gossip. 'कोलीनं तु परीवादे कुलीनत्वे कुकर्मणि । गुह्येऽपि सङ्गरेऽपि श्वभुजङ्गपशुपक्षिणाम्' इति विश्वलोचने । 'स्यात्कौलीनं लोकवादे युद्धे पश्वहिपक्षिणाम् ' इत्यमरः । अविश्वासनी मा भूः -do not be distrastful towards me; do not disbelieve me. विश्वासन - inspiring or producing confidence in. This para form is derived from the causal of the root विश्वस् by affixing the termination अनट् to imply the sense of action under the rule ' करणाधारे चानट् '. विश्वासनं अस्त्यस्य विश्वासनी । The word là satan being multi-vowelled and having 37 at its end, the possessive termination इन् is affixed to it under the rule 'अतोऽनेकाचः'. न विश्वासनी अविश्वासनी । It can be explained also as अविश्वासनमस्त्यस्य अविश्वासनी. This is not a feminine form derived by affixing the termination ङी under the rule ' इञ् टिड्ढाणञ्-', though the termination अनट् is affixed to the causal of the root विश्वस्. As_suggested by योगिराज, this may be taken as a वि form. He has explained it as प्रागनविश्वासनः इदानीमविश्वासनः मा भूरिति । The various editions of Meghaduta that are available read अविश्वासिनी in the place of अविश्वासनी. In my opinion the reading अविश्वासनी can serve the purpose of the reading अविश्वासिनी, if it is explained as bellow. विश्वासयतीति विश्वासनः। Here the termination 879€ should be taken as affixed under the rule 'व्यानडू बहुलम्' to imply tha subject of the verb विश्वासयति and then as baving the feminine termination Sit affixed to it under the rale 'इटिड्ढाणञ् -' as the termination अनट् is दित्.
