बा | बृहतः विशालाश्च ते कोटराः निष्कुहाश्च बृहत्कोटराः । जीर्णद्रुमशतस्य गृहकोटराः जीर्णद्रुमशत बृहत्कोटराः । तेषामन्तर्मध्ये प्रवद्धः निरुद्धः कृतः वा ध्वानः ध्वनिः येषां यैव ते । ते च ते उलूकाः पेचकाः । तेषां प्रतिभयाः भयजनकाः रवाः ध्वनयः यस्मिन् सः । तस्मिन् । प्रतिभयं terrorising. प्रेतशोफातिरौद्रे = extremely formidable owing to the intumnescence [swelling up ] of the dead bodies प्रेतानां शवानां शोफेन श्वयथुना अतिरौद्रः अतिभयङ्करः । तस्मिन् । शोफः = swelling up, intumescence. परिणत शिवारब्धसांराविणोग्रे =terrible owing to the fully developed and pervading bowlings of female jackals. परिणतैः प्रवृद्धैः महत्त्वं प्राप्तैः शिवाभिः क्रोष्ट्रीभिः आरब्धैः कृतैः सांराविणैः प्रसरण क्रियया दिगन्तव्यापिभिः ध्वनिभिः उम्रे भयानके । सांराविणानि - pervading howlings. समन्ततो रवणं सांराविणं । The termination সिन् is affixed to the root सम् + रौ in the sense of of • complete pervasion ' under the rule 'त्रिन् व्याप्तो'. The form, thus derived, possesses neuter gender and implies भाव (क्रिया). After affixing the termination, the termination is again affixed under the rule ' मञिनोऽण् '. As the form, thus derived, possesses neuter gender, the f with the preceding vowel is to be dropped under the rule ':'; but as the termination T, affixed to the word, does not imply the sense an offspring, the with its preciding vowel need not be dropped under the rule ' अनपत्येऽणीनः '. This is how the word सांराविणं is derived.

Stanza 7 :- विद्यासिद्धिं प्रति for the sake of attaining knowledge of magic. नियमिनः - rigidly observing the prescribed rites. नियमः = ब्रतम् । 'नियमो निश्चये बन्धे यन्त्रणे संविदि व्रते ' इति विश्वलोचने । हुंफुङ्कारैः मन्त्रैः पितृवनं अभि भ्राम्यतः = moving all over the cremation ground uttering incantations consisting in हुँ and फुं. अभि being a कर्मप्रवचनीय, goveras the Accusative case and implies बीप्सा ( व्याप्तुमिच्छा ) under वीप्सेत्थम्भूतलक्षणेऽभिने‍ ' । शूली - one armed with spears
