Even if this whole world full of wealth is given to a man, he will not be contented, for it is very difficult to satisfy the desires of an avaricious man. 221 2. Wealth, movable and immovable possessions, garnerage and other domestic articles cannot relieve a person from bondage caused by one's own karmas. Utta. Sū. 8.16 Jain Education International 3. One should reflect thus, "One day I have to abandon all the wealth and property, treasures and fortunes, relatives and friends and even this body and to depart from this world." For Private & Personal Use Only Utta. Sū. 6.6 4. A person who knows that wealth and relatives are incapable of protecting him and that life is ephemeral, liberates himself from the karmic bondage.
