(The cosmos is not a separately existing entitly but the six types of self existing, uncreated and beginningless substances are collectively called as cosmos. The types of substances are six only, but in number they are numerous, innumerous and infinite).

What is cosmos ?
Conglomeration of six substances is (collectively) termed as consmos.

What is Attribute (Guna) ?
That (Quality) which exists in all the parts (Spatial units called 'Pradeshas) of the substance and in all its modifications is called attribute.
What is Modification (Paryaya) ?
The manifestation, i.e. functioning part or activity of an attribute is called modification.
