In this comparative study, we find that out of 175 verses of Candravedhyaka, six are found in the canonical texts, eleven in the niryuktis, 34 in other prakīrņakas and five verses are found in the bhāșya literature. As to the souraseni Yāpanīya literature, that enjoys a status equal to the canons in the Digambara sect, nearly sixteen verses from Candravedhyaka prakīrņaka are available in Mülācāra and Bhagavatī Ārādhanā. We must be aware of this fact that the Prakīrņakas and Niryuktis have made a special contribution towards the subject matter of Mūlācāra and Bhagavatī-ārādhanā.
