can never be responsible for any action and can never enjoy the fruit of its action. पुरु सच्छियाहिलासी इच्छी कम्मं च पुरिसमहिलसदि। एसा आयरियपरंपरागदा एरिसी दु सुदी ॥ ३६२ ॥ पुरुषःस्त्रयभिलाषी स्त्रीकर्म च पुरुषमभिलषति । एषाचार्यपरंपरागतेदृशी श्रुतिः ॥ ३६२ ॥ तह्मा ण कोवि जीवो अवह्मयारी दु तुह्म मुबदेसे। जमा कम्मं चेवहि कम्म अहिलसदि जं भणियं ॥३६३॥ तस्मान्न कोऽपि जीवोऽब्रह्मचारी युष्माकमुपदेशम् । यस्मात्कर्मैव हि कर्माभिलषतीति यदुभणितम् ॥ ३६३ ॥
362-363. If the ancient scriptual teachings of the Ácháryás be that male Karma desires woman, and the womanKarma desires man, then no soul whatsoever will become unchaste, according to thy teaching, because as has been said (above) material Karma by itself desires material Karma,
Commentary.
If the soul be taken as quite inactive and a substance without nature of change ability, then no soul will ever be guilty of unchastity. Only matter will be responsible. This is quite absurd. Under this view, there is no place for Ethics.
जमा घाददि परं परेण घादिज देदि सापयडी। एदेणच्छेणदु फिर भएणदि परघादणामेति ॥ ३६४ ॥ यस्माद्धंति परं परेण हन्यते च सा प्रकृतिः। एतेनार्थेन भण्यते परघातं नामेति ॥ ३६४ ॥ - 364. The Prakriti of Karma destroys another, and is destroyed by another. It is in this sense that Pargháta Nama (Karma) is described.
