The motion of planets is not available in the records of practically all the ancient Jaina texts. Only Thāņāńga ( g. 699) mentions ninc orbits of the venus. Samvāyāiga (19.3) states that the venus, rising in the west, moving through nineteen nakşatras, sets in the west alone.
