The above table proves the originality of the Jaina system. There were unequal divisions and unequal velocities of certain groups of constallations showing that their distances of the earth were taken to be different. The angular and linear velocities signify the complete manipulation of the motion.
NOTE
Yoga : The sum of the longitudes of the sun and the moon, expressed in
minutes of arc, as divided by 800, gives a quotient; next greater integer to which determines the serial number of yoga. In the pāeñcārga, ending time of a yoga is given. In Jaina astronomy, however, the word yoga carries the meaning of kinematric appearance of the moon or the sum against the background of a nakşatra.70

Lagna
: It is the point of intersection of the ecliptic with eastern horizon
at an instant. It is meant usually for astrology.
