104) faffe बोष्ठस्फुरण (B) the (correct) movement of the lips while speaking. According to other commentators, it means the first letter of the Devanagari alphabet. Thus fafafa autojat seems to mean people who are unable to read and write, i. c. illiterate, uneducated people. This is confirmed by the word f (fr) used in the निरक्षरा second half in connection with ger (a gold-smith's balance used for weighing gold etc.), which is fai. e. without any numbers etched on it to indicate the weight of the thing to be weighed, unlike modern balances used in science laboratories or weighing machines in factories, railway stations etc. The goldsmith's balance is a small-sized instrument and it is put in a cloth-bag and carried by the goldsmith on his shoulder, while visiting the houses of his customers.
