________________ करणार्थाधिकारद्वयम् शयनासनसम्बाधन पुरतस्नानानुलेपनासक्तः । स्पर्शव्याकुलितमतिर्गजेन्द्र इव बध्यते मूढः ॥४५॥ The ignorant, who is absorbed in pleasures of sense of touch such as (soft) bed and seat, rubbing (the body ), copulation, bathing, anointing (the body), is trapped like an elephant agitated in the mind by sense of touch. 45. एवमनेके दोषाः प्रणष्टशिष्टेष्टदृष्टिचेष्टानाम् । दुर्नियमितेन्द्रियाणां भवन्ति बाधाकरा बहुशः ॥४६॥ Thus, (these) various defects very often trouble, those who have lost right vision and right conduct which are loved by wise people and who have no control over their unruly senses. 46. एकैकविषयसङ्गाद्रागद्वेषातुरा विनष्टास्ते । किं पुनरनियमितात्मा" जीवः पञ्चेन्द्रियवशार्तः ? ||४७ || When those (=the deer, the moth, the black-bee, the fish and the elephant) being sick of attachment and aversion, (on account of being) attached to one only of these sense-objects meet with death, then what about the indisciplined Jiva who is tormented by coming under the sway of all the five senses ? 47. न हि सोऽस्तीन्द्रियविषयो येनाभ्यस्तेन नित्यतृषितानि । 20 तृप्ति प्राप्नुयुरक्षाण्यनेकमार्गप्रलीनानि २० ॥४८॥ There is no sense-object which (even) oftenly enjoyed can gratify the senses which are ever thirsty and absorbed in various senseobjects (enjoyment). 48. कश्चिच्छुभोऽपि विषयः परिणामवशात्पुनर्भवत्यशुभः । कश्चिदशुभोऽपि भूत्वा कालेन पुनः शुभीभवति ॥ ४९ ॥ | If Some pleasing object, becomes unpleasant on account of its result; some unpleasing object also becomes pleasant after passage of time.49. कारणवशेन यद्यत्प्रयोजनं जायते यथा यत्र । तेन तथा तं विषयं शुभमशुभं वा प्रकल्पयति ॥ ५० ॥ On account of particular reason, whatever purpose is served, how and where, by the same purpose and in the place object is thought of as being good or bad. 50. 21 अन्येषां यो विषयः स्वाभिप्रायेण भवति पुष्टिकर: 2 स्वमतिविकल्पाभिरतास्तमेव भूयो द्विषन्त्यन्ये ॥ ५१ ॥ Jain Education International For Private & Personal Use Only I www.jainelibrary.org
