अथ रागाद्यधिकारः ॥३॥ ममकाराहकारावेषां मूलं पदद्वयं भवति । रागद्वेषावित्यपि तस्यैवान्यस्तु पर्यायः ॥३१॥
3. On Attachment The root cause of these (passions) is the pair of 'I'ness and 'mine'ness. Attachment and aversion are other synonyms of this pair only. 31.
माया लोभकषायश्चेत्येतद्रागसंज्ञितं द्वन्द्वम् । क्रोधो मानश्च पुनद्वैष इति समासनिर्दिष्टः ॥३२॥
In brief, the pair of passions, viz., delusion and greed is called attachment (= 'I'ness) and the pair of anger and pride is aversion (= 'mine'ness.) 32.
मिथ्यादृष्ट्यविरमणप्रमादयोगास्तयोर्बलं दृष्टम् । तदुपगृहीतावष्टविधकर्मबन्धस्य हेतू तौ ॥३३।।
इति रागाद्यधिकारः ॥३॥
Wrong belief, want of control, negligence and psychophysical activities (=Yoga) are the army of these two (viz. attachment and aversion). These two (attachment and aversion) assisted by this (army) are the cause of eight kinds of Karmabandhas. 33.
