________________ INTRODUCTION - (1) Even if we do not take into consideration some peculiar words often occuring in the works of these two authors, words such as Acyuta, Aksara, Samanta, Viśvacakașu, etc. from the point of view of comparative study we have to take note of some peculiar words and phrases in those two Stuti works such as: Swayambhūstora १ स्वपराभासि- Nya. 1) The most important among all these words is Swayambhū. It is with this word that both these authors begin their Stuti. (2) Along with this similarity of words, identity of style can also be noted ; for instance, in the 4th verse of the 1st Dwătrim sika, Siddhasena has described certain characteristics of Mahāvīra which occur in verse 57 of Swayambhu Stotra: "न काव्यशक्तन परस्परेर्ण्यया न वीरकीर्ति प्रतिबोधनेच्छया । -Dws. --Swav.
