________________ III. 43-45. 1 CHAPTER II S 159 All this taking place at one and the same time, in the case of a certain worldly being at the time of his birthnumberless Utpādas, Sthities and Nāšas are thus possible. 38-42 Distinction between dogmatic and rational scriptures : दुविहो धम्मावाओ अहेउवाओ य हेउवाओ य । तत्थ उ अहेउवाओ भवियाऽभवियादओ भावा ॥ ४३ ॥ भविओ सम्महसण-णाण-चरित्तपडिवत्तिसंपन्नो । णियमा दुक्खंतकडो त्ति लक्खणं हे उवायस्स ॥ ४४ ॥ जो हेउवायपक्खम्मि हेउरो आगमे य आगमित्रो। सो ससमयपण्णवो सिद्धतविराहओ अन्नो ॥ ४५ ॥ (43) Agama (canon or canonical Literature) which propounds Religion, consists of Hetuvāda (Rational portion) and Ahetūvāda (dogmatic portion). Padarthas (categories) such as Bhavya and Abhavya etc. are the proper subjects for Ahetūvāda (44) Bhavya according to Hetuvada removes or destroys all unhappiness through Right vision, Right knowledge and Right conduct.
