SANMATI-TARKA (11. 37-42 एवं जीवहवं अणाइणिहणमविसेसियं जम्हा। रायसरिसो उ केवलिपज्जाओ तस्स सविसेसो॥४१॥ जीवो अणाइनिहणो 'जीव' त्ति य णियमओ ण वत्तव्वो। जं पुरिसाउयजीवो देवाउयजीवियविसिट्ठो॥४२॥
(37) Soul is Anādi-nidhana and perfect knowledge has a beginning and no end. Thus there being a gulf of difference, how can soul become Kevala-rupa.
- (38) Therefore, some believe that soul is different due to the differences in characteristics such as Aupagamika etc. and its modificatory changes such as Jñana etc. are also different. .
(39) This has been referred to before while controverting Ekānta-paksa. Still, however, I am inclined to cite an example which points to the relationship between Sadhya and Hetu '(Major Term and Middle Term).*: *: **.
(40) Just as the word 'became' in A sixty years old man became a king at the age of thirty' shows a difference in years.
(41) So also Jiva-dravya without any Višeșa is Anādinidhana. Thus a Kevala
