Dwa. . It .is.the Swayambhu Stotra of :Samanta-Bhadra. lo this stotra, the eulogy of not one but all the 24 Tirthankaras are, found, while in the present , five Dwa. the subject :of eulogy is Lord Mahavira only... The total number of verses of Swayambhu Stotra is 143, while the number of verses in the ealogistic Dwā is 163. Excepting this difference, there is a close resemblance of ideas in these two works. The resemblance is also with reference to metres at the beginning or at the end, some peculiar words, - style and subject matter arrests the attention of a critical student.

सुगदसिंहनादः कृतः ३.२६ The word Simhapada was well-known even in Bauddha-Pitaka for it occurs in the Simhanadasutta of Majhimanikāya and it has also been used by Asvaghosa; e. g. ननाद, सिंहनादम् Sau. 5184 cf. also Gita. 1/12 where this word is used.
